A Passionate Painter and Poet
Linda Perry has always had a passion for art. As a child, her mom would have to hide the crayons as she would create beautiful murals on the walls that only a 4-year-old is capable of. Her parents strongly discouraged her artistic desires as she needed to do something to “pay the bills.” She went into nursing and loved this career, but when the children and grandchildren would color, she could be found with crayons in her hand also.
She and two business partners built a holistic-based home health agency. However, her husband retired her from nursing when she was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness that left her with poor vision. This did not stop Linda from picking up a paintbrush and following her passion. Her joy and love for life can be felt in her paintings. Many times, as she is painting, prayers and poems come to her. She said, "God's love paints through me"
She has exhibited her paintings and won several awards. Along with some of her poems, her artworks can also be found on the cover of the book, Forest of Friends, poems from The Forest of Song, and the soon-to-be-released Forest of Song Out of the Darkness and Into the Light.
Linda lives in Texas with her husband and 5 dogs.
